Kate, Blair, Sophia and Kacie too!: Aruba Vacation 2009

We headed south to Aruba at the end of February to vacation with our friends Kim and Lee and meet up with Herb and Evelyn who had already been there for a week. Sophia did very well on the plane, and didn't cry at all! She had her own ticket and we took her car seat and stroller with us too. The stroller was a real life saver.

When we arrived we rented a minivan and loaded all the suitcases, bags, laptops etc. in the van and didn't have much room left for the humans! After some creative packing (thanks to my Boy Scout years!) we headed out for the resort. The accommodations were fantastic and there was a crib in the suite waiting for Sophia!

We took many trips around the island to see things and Sophia had a blast!

The scenery was beautiful as always and the ocean was so clear! Here, Lee is taking photos of a rock formation in the water.

The rock formations are quite unique and we spent lots of time looking, walking and photographing them. Kim also collected a few seashells for her grandchildren (Caleb and Summer).

The above photos were taken just north of our resort along the road to the northern tip of the island.

Sophia loved the water and sand and we tried to put her in every chance we had. It was tough keeping the sun off her delicate skin, but somehow we were successful at preventing any sunburns, hooray!

Too bad they're not happy! Huh?

On Friday we met with more friends of ours, Jennifer and Hugh, who were there on a business recognition trip. We all met for lunch on the beach and had a great time!

Sophia was passed around the table and had a great time making everyone smile! We are so blessed to have such a happy child.
